Program Overview

Stanford Ignite is a four-week, highly selective summer program at Stanford University for individuals interested in innovation and entrepreneurship.
The program features instruction from senior Stanford Graduate School of Business professors and guest speakers, panelists, and mentors.
Ignite's academic instruction is divided into core business skills and applied skills such as public speaking and negotiation.
Participants work on a team Venture project to apply classroom learning to a real-world startup or Venture.
The final presentation simulates pitching for funding to a panel of venture capitalists and entrepreneurs.

The program runs from June 23rd to July 17th, with an online pre-program portion starting on May 22nd.
The program size is capped at 72 participants to ensure meaningful group interaction and networking opportunities.
The standard program cost is $14,950, but Stanford participants are eligible for a significantly reduced rate.
The program does not offer grades or academic credit hours but provides a certificate of participation upon completion.
Non-Stanford participants should note that the program is not a degree-bearing program and Stanford cannot sponsor participants for Visas.
Ignite provides access to key resources such as housing, parking, and gym facilities.

The application deadline for the 2024 Ignite Program is April 12th and includes an online application form, resume/CV upload, one recommendation, and an online video interview.
Practice questions are available in the same format as the actual interview questions, with quiet time to gather thoughts before recording responses.

Participants have the opportunity to work on real-world projects and interact with experienced entrepreneurs and industry leaders.
Ignite emphasizes teamwork, collaboration, and bringing out the best in each team member.
Mentors are provided to teams, and they may be industry-specific or have broad entrepreneurship experience.
Participants connect with their peer group and exchange ideas through an online classroom and a Slack workspace.
The workload can be heavy, with evenings and weekends often occupied by team meetings and business model preparation.

Ignite aims to help participants learn the language of business, develop skills to turn ideas into successful Ventures, improve teamwork, leadership, and public speaking skills, and expand their professional networks.
Ignite alumni have gone on to found successful startups, work for leading companies, and pursue advanced degrees.
